Two videos, one showing both our goals against Dagenham & Redbridge, Cristian Ceballos is the payer who has his shot parried for Obika to tap in and the player fouled who then takes the rather poor penalty.

It was significant Bentaleb was taken to Finland and played with current the first choice three in front of him (Lennon, Eriksen, Lamela).

Spurs coaching staff believe Danny Rose to be better than the fans do who generally simply ignore the excellent start he made last season, when arguably he was our best player. Can Rose surprise again this season?

Right let's get into the Tottenham News Shorts - Issue 45 which is a quick one with a game today and concerns recent news about Lewis Holtby, Alex Pritchard, Shaquile Coulthirst, Jamaal Lascelles, Karl Darlow and Spurs history on this day.

Lewis Holtby was pleased after the Celtic performance explaining to the clubs official website:

"I think every goal is a confidence boost. For every player who gets some minutes under his belt, it’s very important for the upcoming season so I think everyone is pleased after this game.
“We played against a young Celtic side. They had some very good players, but the 6-1 result is deserved. We kept the ball well, we created chances and got the goals.
“It was a good run-out and I think we can get a lot of positives out of the match. Our confidence is rising game by game.”

Alex Pritchard is pleased with his new boots. Just as your parents used to write your name in your clothes or sew in name labels so footballers have their names written on their pretty boots. Whatever happened to black!

Still I suppose it beats putting your name on the back of a shirt in case you forget it.

Phil Brown (Southend Manager)
"I think all five clubs that Shaquile played against for Torquay at the end of last season were interested in signing him."

Quite like the shirt he's going to be wearing this year.

An end to the guesswork of many who thought Jamaal Lascelles was the young centre-half we had agreed a move with. Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce reveals to the Evening Post Lascelles and goalkeeper Karl Darlow are joining Newcastle behind his back.

As we now know Eric Dier was the player we had agreed terms with having been following him for 2 years.

“We had an offer from Newcastle, that I was made aware of last week, in regards to the two players going there. The figures that were mentioned, by the representative of our club – I said I would not do that deal, when I was asked the question.
“I thought I could push their value up and that they would be worth more in the long run.The first I heard today about things was when Jamaal Lascelles came in and told me that he had a medical at 2pm at Newcastle.
“That disappointed me greatly.
“I think I have a good relationship with the club. But obviously, for whatever reason, they have decided to take the money on this situation.
“I do not agree with it. But the only olive branch I have got is that the boys are both coming back on a year loan, which is a bonus.
“But I felt that, if they stayed at the club, they would only have increased in value.”

Finally this morning let's delve into Spurs history and see what we have been up to on this day.

On this day in 2013 we signed Roberto Soldado from Valencia.

Happy 66th birthday to former Liverpool, Tottenham and England goalkeeper Ray Clemence MBE who donned our silks from 1982 - 1988.

He won the FA Cup, UEFA Cup (missed the final) and Charity Shield with us and had runner-up medals in the League Cup and FA Cup. He stayed on as a coach and coaching with England, now he is Head of the FA Development Team looking after players from 16-21 playing for England.

On this day we have played 4 overseas sides and in 11 games in total we have never failed to score at least one goal.
