Eriksen talks Tottenham training

Christian Eriksen loves his football and Tim Sherwood revealed he had to drag him off the training field such was his dedication to improve.



That dedication sadly was lacking in other players last season and Spurs fans will be hoping a new head coach inspires them to improve their games as well. The has been plenty of talk that the Spurs players have been pushed hard but also plenty of indication that they are a happy bunch again.

Christian Eriksen was at an EA SPORTS event and spoke about the tough pre-season training they have been through.

“Of course, I didn’t come in pre-season last year. “ came late so I didn’t know what they did, and in the middle of the season you don’t train that much anyway.

“It helps having a trainer from the beginning of the season, you get to know his ideas and his structures straight away. 

"It's been a pretty hard pre-season. The first few weeks there were times when we went to bed pretty early. 

"Now of course you try to get used to it. We're going getting closer to where we want to be when the season starts. There have been double sessions two times a week when we're training at 10 o'clock and then again at four, so it's a long day. 

"Mentally as well it's pretty hard but it's fun to play football, so it's alright. It takes time with seven new players, and with two trainers. Every trainer has different ideas, so of course it takes time.  

"Hopefully we have had the time now in the pre-season to get involved and see the new ideas. We had some pretty dark days last season. 

"For this season we just want to be more stabilised and do better against the top four teams. Of course we still want to win against all the other game as well so if we can't do both I would rather do a little bit of a mix.

“What we have done in pre-season is how we want to play. It is leaning against [the Ajax philosophy]. I think a lot of the ideas are a bit similar: that he wants to play football; if you can turn, you turn, if you can play forward, you play forward. And again it is about ball possession and structure and where you need to run. So it is a bit like Ajax, but not really.

“[I wnt to play] where the ball is, I don’t really care [where I play]. "

Christian Eriksen was speaking at the announcement of EA SPORTS' partnership extension with the Premier League.
