Performance Report

Emmanuel Adebayor was rested from the midweek trip to Cyprus and will doubtless be rested again for the return leg this week, allowing Roberto Soldado another outing. It is hard to pick out any player from the front four as being better than any other because it doesn't matter who scores, they are all creating the goals with their interchanging.

As the lone striker some would expect the three behind to interchange while Adebayor stays central, not a bit of it. The first goal was a result of Bentaleb, Eriksen and Capoue crowding out Remy. The ball broke from Eriksen's challenge to Bentaleb who advanced centrally with the Adebayor ran diagonally to the left, Chadli diagonally right. Bentaleb played the ball to Adebayor who took a couple of yards in from the corner of the box, turned onto his right and chipped the ball to the far of the 6 yard box for Chadli to score.

He was afforded far too much time, their wasn't a defender near him, when you give quality players time they will hurt you, there will be far tougher games than this but you can only beat what is front of you.

To cap off a fine performance he got his own goal in the second half, a super move down the left between Chadli and Rose saw Danny Rose overlapping and his pass along the floor was just beyond Ferdinand's outstretched lunging leg to intercept. It was right into an onrushing Adebayor's path where he didn't even have to break stride, perfect for a striker. Adebahor simply opened his body and side footed the ball past Robert Green's fruitless dive left.

One goal and one assists the stats show but he combined well with his attacking partners against a woeful QPR, there are tougher tests ahead, Liverpool next week for instance.
