Christian Eriksen upbeat

For many it is the first time they have visited the States, one of those being last summer's signing Christian Eriksen. He came good at the end of the season with 3 months of quality attacking under Tim Sherwood, defending left a little to be desired but that simply an area to work on, depending upon where new head coach Mauricio Pochettino wants to play him.

Eriksen was bought as the playmaker, as a number 10 but rarely featured there. He had to come to terms with the Premier League and a faster pace of game. He has produced offensively from the left, pre-season will give us fans an idea of where Pochettino perhaps sees his future.

“I’ve never been to America before, so I’ve a lot to see and I’m looking forward to it. I’ve always wanted to go there, maybe on a holiday, but now I’m going with the team and I’ll see what it’s all about.”

Emmanuel Adebayor, who has had to miss the US and Canada pre-season tour at the Spurs medical staff's insistence has no doubt we'll be seeing an even better Eriksen next season.

“He’s a great talent and a great professional. He has great vision too. He trains hard every day, early in the morning he does his gym work ready to train and before the game you can see how he prepares.

“His contribution this season has been unbelievable. It’s his first season in the Premier League and he will only get better next season.”

Earlier Eriksen revealed he has settled well into Tottenham life feels the side need a fast start next season to settle everyone and boost the confidence levels.

“I really like it here. It’s a nice, warm club to come to and all my team-mates have been helpful.

“I’ve settled down and I’ve just got used to driving in to the same place every day. I’ve also got used to driving on the left side of the road!

“Personally and for the team, I hope we can start next season really well. It’s been a season of ups and downs both personally and for the team. There have been some big losses but some good wins as well.

“Everyone has been in the Premier League for a season now, everyone has shown character and shown that we can bounce back.

“We now need to go and achieve our targets for next season.”

That season starts now with pre-season games honing the fitness level and learning a new system, a new set of requirements. The Seattle Sounders game will certainly be a game to tune into and watch with interest.

Eriksen was impressed with his dressing room peg, he tweeted a picture.
