Crystal Palace favourites to sign Livermore

Crystal Palace have emerged as the favourites to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jake Livermore.

Crystal Palace favourites to sign Livermore

Palace boss Tony Pulis is willing to part with £6.5 million to secure the 24 year-old who spent last season on loan at Hull City. He earned plaudits all season alongside former Spurs midfielder Tom Huddlestone culminating in an FA Cup Final appearance, a game Hull should really have won.

Hull boss Steve Bruce wanted to sign him permanently but is unwilling to match the £6.5 million price tag. Clubs were quoted £6 million for him last summer so Bruce knew his price and wanted to pick him up on the cheap.

Tony Pulis worked wonders at Crystal Palace last season after taking over in January and taking them from bottom to middle of the table safety. Now he has the chance to craft his own side and sees Livermore as part of that.

Reports suggest that Palace co-Chairman Steve Parish has handed Pulis a £30 million transfer kitty this summer to secure their Premier League future. Livermore is a proven performer with years ahead of him who will retain or increase in value, representing good value Palace feel.
