Richard Helmersen is the guy in question. He placed 100 Norwegian Kroner, which is £9.60 or €11.98, on Luis Suarez to bite someone at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil at odds of 175/1.

As a result he now collects 17,500 Norwegian Kroner, which is £1,680 or €2,096.50 as a result of a bit of fun.

Suarez lawyer claim his client has an injured eye as a result of this incident which does rather beg the question, why is he holding his teeth!

Helmersen told TV2, a publicly owned television station in Denmark based in Odense, via Google Translate:

"It’s really quite surreal. I sit the course to watching the game and when it happens it starts to tick the messages from buddies who knew I’d put money on it. It’s quite fun. I started the only laugh. I thought, is he really so stupid that he does it again?

"It was mostly for fun. But I knew that they were playing against Italy and England and it soon could be irritably."

But of course he may just be an astute punter because Italy played Uruguay in the Cenfederations Cup last year and the pair clashed there. perhaps Luis was sizing Chiellini up!

It is amazing what some people will bet on and amazing what bets win. If you don't try you can't win.

A good motto for the Spurs squad next season.
