Will Sandro stay or not

The Sandro will he won't he saga rumbles on with his agent once again muddying the waters.

Will Sandro stay or not

Under Tim Sherwood Sandro was only half the player he had been before, he was off the pace in games, reacting to events rather than reading the game and anticipating events. Opponents were going past him with ease and he was having to commit early fouls to stop them getting himself booked.

Sandro complained on Twitter that he wasn't happy not playing and told the media it would be difficult to leave Spurs because Daniel Levy handles all the negotiations.

"It would be very difficult to leave on loan from here [Tottenham].

“If I was to leave, it would have to be permanently and it is not close. Other teams have come, however, with little money. President (Daniel Levy) negotiates every transfer, this was the case for [Gareth] Bale had the case, it is not easy.”

He indicated that with the departure of Tim Sherwood he would be staying and now his agent, Luiz Paulo Chignall, has practically invited offers by telling Italian news outlet Calciomercato, amid interest from Roma and Napoli, that all players would like to play in Serie A.

"We have not had direct contact. We know that many clubs are following Sandro, because he has features rare to find on the market, he is a modern player. There is no official offer at the moment.

"All the players would like to play in Serie A, the league is very important. Now we have to wait for the opening of the summer market and then we'll know if he can leave Tottenham or not.

"Sandro at the beginning of the year came back well from injury, he'd like to stay in London and has a great relationship with the fans, who consider him an idol. Tottenham want to keep him, but we can not exclude that a club makes a good offer and the club decides to sell him."

It really looks as if he would be happy to leave but that they feel Daniel Levy would want too much money for him making a deal impossible. As is usual in these cases the player talks about how happy he is at a club to keep popularity with the fans.

With Sherwood out the way and a summer without the World Cup he should get in a full pre-season and come back the player he was in 2012/13. That player is too good to let go.
