Spurs & Arsenal after Lorenzo Insigne

With an Italian technical director it is not surprising that Tottenham now get linked with Italian based players all the time.

Spurs & Arsenal after Lorenzo Insigne

Today it is the turn of Lorenzo Insigne. Italian newspaper Tuttosport report that Tottenham and Arsenal are both chasing the 22 year-old Napoli striker. He is said to be able to play on either wing but has had a poor season scoring 2 goals in 34 Serie A games.

Insigne scored twice in the Italian cup final as Napoli beat Fiorentina to lift the trophy.

He is not liked by the fans and it seems the Italian press are attempting to drum interest, suggesting Arsenal will make the first move with a £15 million bid.

In all he has played 50 games and scored 9 goals with 10 assists. There is little to support such a valuation it seems.

Iago FalgueIago Falgue wants to stay at Rayo Vallecano where he has been on loan from us after his spell at Almeria earlier.

“I’m happy with my performance in the second half of the season. I have regained the good vibes that I’ve been missing for quite a long time. I’m satisfied, but I don’t like making assessments before the end of the season. Rayo has a purchase option until 30th June. If they don’t exercise it, I have to go back to England. But it takes patience, whatever will be will be.”

Several clubs have seen something in him but he has never kicked on and fulfilled that potential. He missed a month of the season through injury but has played 26 La Liga games scoring 3 goals with 3 assists.

He has been taken off 14 times in those 26 games and come on as a sub twice. Falque has played 1,798 La Liga minutes which equates to 19.97 full league games.

His contract at Tottenham runs until next summer so if he is not sold this summer and no extension is agreed he could negotiate a deal in January and leave for free next summer. Whilst there is no money in Spanish football, apart from the big clubs, a small fee now for him would be better than nothing next summer.
