Sherwood ends on a high

Diminutive Alex Pritchard, only 21, came on with 7 minutes to go to make his debut, 18 year-old Milos Veljkovic was given 30 minutes in his second game, Nabil Bentaleb (19) made a sub appearance, 20 year-old Harry Kane played the full game, Danny Rose is only 23 and Christian Eriksen just 22 gave the final moments of the game a very youthful look.

He would like to stay in charge of course but that is highly unlikely but he has been happy with the results achieved as well he should be. He has had the team in top four form and amassed a better points per game average that Andre Villas-Boas this season.
Mauricio Pochettino has been talked about as a possible successor and fuelled the flames with his comments about a jog being finished at Southampton. Tottenham however under Sherwood beat his Southampton side twice and ended up scoring more goals over the season.
With Ledley King's testimonial match tomorrow evening and Frank de Boer on a post season tour of Indonesia with Ajax until the 17the May Spurs fans will have to wait a little while longer yet until they know who will be in charge come August.

“I need to speak to the chairman, we know what we have done.
“It was obviously me, Chris Ramsey and Les Ferdinand who stepped up from the development team and overall we are happy with what we have done, we are not sure we could have done much more.
“It would be nice to get it clarified, we have looked at pre-season a little bit and we need to get to work on those [transfer] targets. Someone else might have a different opinion.”

“Absolutely, I love doing this job, my life would be a lot easier if I wasn’t a manager but I want to do it.
“It’s my life, it’s what I want to be involved in and continuing doing it.
