Kyle Walker's chances of going to the World Cup are improving after Tottenham coach Les Ferdinand giving an update on his progress.

Kyle Waker to make Villa subs bench The press have been reporting Roy Hodgson as saying Kyle Walker may be out for up to 10 weeks but that he hasn't had any confirmation yet Les Ferdinand puts it at a week.

Speaking to ITV he indicated that the Tottenham right-back could play some part against Aston Villa at White Hart Lane in the last game of the season.

"He's had two or three injections and responded quite well. He's not going to make the West Ham game, but hopefully he might be available for the last game of the season.

"He's training with the physios at the moment, doing some straight line running, and he's just trying to get himself back up to speed.

"He's been able to do straight line running to keep his fitness levels up, obviously he's not match fit, but it's just a case of match fitness that he needs now."

That rather paints a different picture and with the Ledley King testimonial game after the Aston Villa fixture he could get some more game time before the series of internationals leading up to the World Cup in Brazil this summer.
