Bale to earn £2.5m for 1 weeks work

Playing for Wales he misses out on another major tournament but it's not all doom and gloom, instead he goes on a promotional tour.

Bale to earn £2.5m for 1 weeks work

For one week at the end of May Gareth Bale will spend a week in Asia (Indonesia and Singapore) appearing in a football festival in Jakarta to demonstrate his heading ability.

Indonesia Menyundul Bola (Indonesia Heads the Ball) is a football festival in which participants will have to head balls hanging between the National Monument and the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle.

He will also attend a charity event and a football coaching clinic. For that week he will collect £2.5 million.

Not bad on top of his £300,000 a week Real Madrid salary.

Edwin Sutiono, director of Indonesian company Dua Kelinci who are sponsoring the visit, explained why they are bringing Bale to Asia.

"Bale is a world-class player. He has spare time so he can come here. Hopefully he will motivate young Indonesian footballers."

Perhaps he come come back to Tottenham for a week and inspire some of our players to improve, show them a winners continual improvement work ethic.
