Former Arsenal player Song seeks Spurs move

Alex Song a former Arsenal midfielder wants to move to Tottenham this summer.

Former Arsenal player Song seeks Spurs move

The Cameroon international spent 6 years as part of Arsene Wenger's team and is capable of playing in several roles. With our injuries at centre-back the fact he can play there is may make him of interest to us.

The 26 year-old moved to Barcelona in August 2012 for £15 million on a five-year contract but he is only a peripheral figure there starting just 37 games.

A report in the Sunday People suggests he is keen to return to the Premier League and wants to play in London with his agent seeking talks with Spurs and West Ham.

Everton want to talk but his preferred destination is London which makes Spurs favourites unless Arsenal come back in for him. The price suggested is £10 million and wrongly I suspect they claim he could be a replacement for Sandro. Far more likely is that he would be a replacement for Etienne Capoue, the Frenchman who has struggled to settle at Spurs and then suffered injuries.

He may be a former Arsenal player but he is a proven top 4 player and we need all the proven young top 4 players we can get.
