Spurs Scouting Report - Who are we watching?

Spurs Scouting Report - We are watching 2 Englishmen, a German, a Frenchman, a Romanian and a Honduran

I been wandering through the media to see who we have been sending scouts to see apart from the Portuguese Braga pair, 31 year-old goalkeeper Eduardo Cavalho and 20 year-old striker Rafael Ferreira Silva.

We have two Englishmen, a German, a Frenchman, a Romanian and a Honduran to put into the melting pot.

Nottingham Forest centre-back and England youth international Jamaal Lascelles. The 20-year old has been impressive in the Championship and is thought to have a bright future. Former Forest and England centre-back Des Walker feels he could be special if allowed to develop.

Naturally we are not the only club watching him, Liverpool are keen, Arsenal have watched him for 3 years and Everton have been fined £45,000 for an illegal approach. Lascelles is not expected to be playing Championship football next season.

We made an offer of £2 million for Forest's English goalkeeper Karl Darlow but Forest turned it down. Apparently the 23-year-old is in no rush to leave Forest to become a reserve at Spurs.

Tim Sherwood is keen on the youngster and Spurs need to overhaul their goalkeeping options so one option could be to buy him, then loan him back to Forest to continue getting competitive game time.

Next up is Andre Hoffman. He is a German Under 21 international that parts of the press for some reason have reported as a winger. He is in fact a versatile defender currently playing centre-back for Hannover in the Bundesliga but his main role is as a defensive midfielder. He is under contract until June 2016 and his coach has confirmed we have had scouts at his last three games.

Florian Thauvin of Marseille is the next name on the list. The attacking midfielder has drawn criticism from his manager, Frank Lebouef, for a lack of consistency though. In France the press suggested we offered a deadline day swop deal with Etienne Capoue to secure the 21 year-old Under 21 French international. He can play on either wing, primarily the right, or through the middle.

Over to Romania and Steaua Bucharest where are watching 19 year-old Gabriel Iancu dubbed the 'new Hagi,' didn't think it would take long before someone was dubbed the new somebody. The Romanian Under 21 international is under contract until December 2017. He primarily plays left wing but can play right or central midfield also.

Across to Belgium where we have been watching Honduran Andy Najar Rodríguez who has been in outstanding form for Anderlecht this season. Hull and Valencia have also been watching the 20 year-old right winger who can also drop back to full-back or play on the left wing. He is under contract until June 2016 and joined the Belgium club from the DC United in the MLS. He has been capped 9 times by Honduras.
